SUPERIOR — Ryan Nelson leapt over the boards and saw his opportunity as soon as his skates touched the ice.

Superior’s freshman forward cruised into his attack lane just as Brady Haroldson took control of the puck near the blue line. The senior captain pushed it forward to Nelson, who rifled the shot into the corner of the net for a goal.

“I came on the ice and that’s when Brady ended up getting it,” Nelson said. “When I saw that, I took my lane. He gave me a sauce pass and I just picked my corner and shot. I feel like I’m going to score almost every time when I have opportunities like that.”
