A couple have been forced to repaint their London townhouse after giving it an extreme makeover. Edmond Curtin and his wife painted their £2.6 million house black and dark grey without permission.

And "furious" neighbours and officials were not happy about the change. Planning authorities said the paint job was “jarring” on the exclusive London street . Mr Curtin, a solicitor, received an enforcement notice ordering him to change his Grade-II home in leafy Gibson Square back to the way it was before.
