WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners will vote today on awarding a nearly $3.7 million contract to a Lowellville company for rehabilitating the South Main Avenue Bridge in Warren.

At Monday’s workshop meeting, Deputy Engineer Gary Shaffer described the bid as acceptable in the current environment for larger projects and one that the Ohio Department of Transportation viewed favorably. He said work would start in March, with the bridge hoped to reopen by summer after about four months of closure and a detour in place.

Commissioners did not raise objections during the discussion, paving the way for today’s expected approval and contract with S.E.T.

The bid from S.E.T. Inc. came in as the sole offer at $3,685,272.95, about 20% above the county engineer’s estimate of $3,077,161.61. It woul
