A murder investigation has been launched after a young, up-and-coming singer was fatally shot in a parked car in Los Angeles in the early hours of Saturday, police said.

Maria de la Rosa, 22, who has released music as DELAROSA, was identified by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Monday, as one of several victims targeted by two male suspects who approached a vehicle and opened fire in an ambush-style attack.

Police said the motive was unclear and no arrests have been made.
