One week after returning from injury and pulling off a standout game while leading the San Francisco 49ers to a win against the Arizona Cardinals, Brock Purdy had a bit of a rougher performance during Monday night's showdown with the Panthers.

After a 200-yard, three-touchdown passing performance with no turnovers in the victory over the Cardinals, things were not quite as smooth for Purdy against the Panthers. He tossed three interceptions, all of which came in the first half of play, and managed just one touchdown while throwing for 193 yards on Monday, leaving fans perplexed at the Jekyll-and-Hyde style performance from their franchise quarterback in consecutive weeks.

Luckily for the 49ers, Purdy's woes in his second game back since being sidelined with an injury weren't enough to help the Panthers claw their way to a win. Bryce Young threw two interceptions of his own for the Panthers, and the 49ers managed to escape the clash with Carolina with a 20-9 win. The victory moves the franchise to 8-4 on the season in an exceptionally strong NFC West division that has featured some of the strongest-looking teams so far this season.

The 49ers never trailed in the win, and their 10-3 halftime lead also gave Purdy the unique distinction of being the first player to throw three interceptions in the first half of a game and still have the lead at halftime since Lamar Jackson during the 2021 season.
