Father Ted co-creator Graham Linehan has been cleared of harassing a transgender activist at Westminster Magistrates' Court. The 57-year-old writer was found guilty of criminal damage to Sophia Brooks' mobile phone after a heated altercation. He denied harassing the activist on social media between October 11 and October 27, 2024; meanwhile, the criminal damage to their phone is thought to have happened on October 19.

The criminal damages claim alleged that he had damaged their £369 mobile phone at the Battle of Ideas conference, an annual event that hosts a series of debates on various issues. District Judge Briony Clarke delivered the verdict on Tuesday (November 25).
