SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) - Robbery suspects used an aerosol spray when they hit a gas station in South Windsor late Monday night, police said.
The suspects robbed the Exxon on John Fitch Boulevard just before 11:30 p.m.
Police described them as wearing masks.
They said they asked for cigarettes, and when the clerk turned around to grab them, one of the suspects sprayed the clerk with what was likely bear mace.
The suspects then grabbed the register drawer and fled on foot.
The clerk was evaluated by medical personnel, but was not hurt.
Police said the investigation remained active as of Tuesday morning.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the South Windsor Police Department.
