The disappearance of Union High School head football coach Travis Lee Turner has gripped Wise County, Virginia, as state police, school officials, and residents continue searching for answers.

Turner, 46, was officially listed as a missing person by the Virginia State Police (VSP) after he vanished late last week in the midst of an undefeated season.

Newsweek contacted the VSP for comment via email outside of normal office hours on Tuesday.
