UNION COUNTY, Ga. — The family of a missing law professor and attorney said the formal search and rescue efforts have come to a halt nearly two weeks after his disappearance along the Appalachian Trail.
According to the Union County Sheriff's Office, Charles Hosch was last seen on Tuesday, Nov. 11 , when he went for a hike on the Byron Herbert Reece Trailhead.
The Union County Sheriff's Office said on Friday that ground search teams had been scaled back in favor of specialized K-9 teams to track for clues.
However, on Monday, Nov. 24, the daughter of Hosch, Julia Hosch, said in a Facebook post that "Union County has paused its active search."
