PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Consumers will need to prepare to pay more to keep the lights on.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission announced a price hike on supply rates on December 1, 2025.
PECO customers can expect to see a 6% increase to 11 cents per kilowatt hour.
PPL is jumping 3.7% to nearly 13 cents per kilowatt hour.
The utility commission urges customers concerned about their bills to learn about switching providers for cheaper rates.
Customers can also call their electric company to discuss assistance programs that may be available to them.
