RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The big story for this holiday weekend is a cold blast that’s slated to arrive in Virginia in time for Thanksgiving.

In Richmond, highs will tumble from around 70° Wednesday afternoon to the near 50° on Thanksgiving Day, after a strong cold front passes tomorrow.

Highs by Friday and Saturday will only reach the 40s with morning lows in the 20s!

That front might even spark a few thunderstorms Tuesday. If you are traveling south Tuesday, be alert for a few strong storms in parts of Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi, especially this morning where there is a slight and marginal risk of severe weather. No severe weather is expected in Virginia.
