FORT SMITH, Ark. — Leslie went for a walk to Bailey Hill Reservoir in south Fort Smith on Nov. 1, 1985.
That was the last night she was seen alive.
Today, forty years later, Leslie’s brother-in-law Patrick Feight says he’s doing all he can to keep her memory alive. “She was a kind, sweet, lovable, naive, young, great girl”, Feight said. “She was very pure and innocent.”
Leslie had been strangled to death. Police say the killer used shoelaces from her own shoes. There was also an unopened six-pack of beer next to her body.
The case has had several detectives assigned to it over the years, and it is still considered active.
