UPPER PENINSULA, MI - Hands-down, the forecast shows the hardest-hit spot with this incoming winter storm is going to be the Upper Peninsula. While the whole of Michigan will see high winds and rain changing to snow as this Thanksgiving storm system pushes its way across the state, parts of the U.P. could be seeing blizzard conditions by late tonight and early Wednesday, the National Weather Service meteorologists in Marquette said.
Heavy snowfall and high winds make this a recipe for blizzard conditions. Some areas of the Upper Peninsula are expected to see 2 to 3 feet of snow between tonight and Thursday. And wind gusts as high as 50 mph are forecast.
Gale Warnings have been issued for all five of the Great Lakes.
