A 'gripping' 2013 dark comedy which fans reckon showcases James McAvoy's finest performance is currently available on Netflix , but only until the end of the month.
The psychological thriller is adapted from legendary Scottish author Irvine Welsh's 1998 novel of the same name, and centres on a corrupt detective who views a fresh murder investigation as his ticket to a promotion.
However, his world unravels as he starts suffering from intense hallucinations during the case. The synopsis reveals: "In Edinburgh, Bruce Robertson, a bigoted and corrupt policeman, is in line for a promotion and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
"As he turns his colleagues against one another by exposing their secrets, Bruce starts to lose himself in a web of deceit that he can no longer control
