A cat in Lebanon County had to be euthanized after its owner’s neighbor shot the animal twice with a BB gun over the summer, police said.

“You are next,” Thomas Dennis, 63, told the cat’s owner after the June 26 shooting on the 1000 block of Meily Street in Lebanon, according to an affidavit of probable cause that city police filed on Monday.

The cat’s owner told police her sister was sitting outside her Meily Street house on June 26 when she heard what sounded like a BB gun being discharged. Her sister then saw a black barrel sticking out of Dennis’s next-door window, the affidavit said.

Court documents said the woman saw her cat running from the direction of Dennis’s house and was later found limping, with two BB pellet wounds. The cat had to be euthanized because its owner could not
