KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The line of widespread heavy rain moves into Western North Carolina and storms develop for the afternoon.

We’re not done with the storms until later in the evening on Tuesday. Storms moving through can bring heavy rain, gusty winds and thunder and lightning can’t be ruled out.

A few areas of rain will linger into Wednesday morning with a clearing pattern for the afternoon. As you travel through East Tennessee on Wednesday you’ll notice a shift in the winds and cooler temperatures moving in for Thanksgiving.

COLDER THANKSGIVING DAY/BLACK FRIDAY: Much colder air with a bit of breeze settles in for Thanksgiving, but the sunshine is something to be thankful for. Highs will struggle to get into the mid 40s both days and lows dropping below freezing.
