A student from Saudi Arabia is on trial for rape after a woman alleges she woke up to find him attacking her in his flat in Portsmouth. Waleed Alharbi, 26, is accused of raping the claimant after he carried her part of the way from a nightclub to his halls of residence, where the alleged attack took place, a court has heard. Alharbi has denied the rape, which is said to have taken place in the early hours of June 28, claiming that the sex was consensual.
A jury at Portsmouth Crown Court was also told that the student denies attempting to rape the woman, who is in her 30s, in the shower of his flat.
