LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - With Thanksgiving two days away, more than 100 volunteers at the Center for People are helping put food on tables across Lincoln this week.
The center’s annual Fall Food Festival will run from Monday to Tuesday, distributing 2,500 fall food boxes filled with turkeys, ham, stuffing, corn, and other fresh produce. Each box contains about $100 to $150 worth of food.
The center plans to serve over 300 families this week.
“Love never fails. And these are acts of love. When somebody can give from their heart without asking for anything in return, I think that’s just very important in today’s day and age,” said Jacob Ragsdale, a volunteer.
