OMAHA, Neb. —
The father of the 5-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself was held on bond during a court appearance Tuesday.
Trae Colvin, 28, is charged with two counts of felony child neglect and two counts of misdemeanor child neglect. He was held on 10% of $500,000 bond.
Omaha police said the child accidentally shot himself Sunday with an unsecured firearm inside a bedroom in the house.

Prosecutors said Colvin came home and had the gun in his pants pocket, then he and the children laid down for a nap. He awoke to the gunshot and the 5-year-old flailing his arm around, covered in blood.
Colvin then stored the gun in a safe before driving the children to Council Bluffs to pick up
