KINGSTON — Two projects meant to help improve patient treatment are to split $60,000 in grant funding.

The two projects were selected as winners of the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation’s annual Discovery Den event on Nov. 13.

The event had 10 teams of frontline workers at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and researchers from Queen’s University pitch their ideas to a panel of community judges.

The two winning teams included projects to advance forensic nursing through Alternate Light Source technology and reducing barriers to chronic back-pain treatment through a bone-enhanced ultrasound system.
