The Kingston Police have seen a positive trend in terms of policing costs during two of the busiest weekends of the school year, Queen’s University’s Homecoming and the unsanctioned fauxcoming.
Over the past three years, the parties have seemed to tame down. While officers still put in overtime hours, and bring in neighbouring police services, the amount of money being spent is trending downward.

According to an information report by Kingston Police, the total costs for both gatherings this year were $190,000, a reduction from last year’s total of $253 thousand, which is a decrease of 25 per cent.
