BELOIT, Wis. — The City of Beloit has picked an interim fire chief ahead of searching for someone to fill the role permanently.
The Beloit Police and Fire Commission chose Todd Farley as interim chief of the City of Beloit Fire Department during a meeting on Monday. The move comes after it was announced on Oct. 23 that former City of Beloit fire chief Daniel Pease was retiring .
Farley has been with Beloit fire since January 2023, leading the department's emergency medical services division. Farley was said to have been in the fire service for over 30 years.
Previous roles Farley worked in include fire chief of the Leavenworth County Fire District No. 1 and fire chief of the Macon, Missouri Fire Department.
