The New Orleans Saints ' patience with kicker Blake Grupe officially met its breaking point, as the team waived the third-year kicker Tuesday.

The decision was made after Grupe, who originally signed with the Saints as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2023, missed his seventh and eighth field goals of the season in a Week 12 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Five of Grupe's misses have come from inside 50 yards this season, including a 2-for-5 mark from 40-49 yards. Both of Grupe's misses against the Falcons, from 38 and 47 yards, missed wide to the right of the uprights.

With Grupe out, the New Orleans Saints are planning to sign former LSU kicker Cade York to the practice squad, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed.
