NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A convicted felon is back in jail after police say he was found with a stolen weapon over the weekend in North Charleston.
Jahsiah Alston, 29, is charged with felony possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent crime, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and receiving stolen goods valued under $2,000, police say.
Officers were patrolling the area of Dutton and Sumner Avenues early Saturday morning they noticed a group of men standing between two vehicles behind an apartment complex in the Charleston Farms area, the agency said in a release.
When they approached the men, officers say they saw Alston walking behind one of the vehicles and dropping a gun.
