HOLSTEIN — Four Republican candidates for governor took turns knocking U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra at a forum in this northwest Iowa town amid the perceived frontrunner’s absence and made their own pitches to a crowded room.

The first candidate speaker during the Nov. 24 event, former Department of Administrative Services Director Adam Steen, opened his speech by joking about how great it was to have all five candidates in the room, eliciting knowing laughter from the audience.
