AUSTIN, Texas — If you've been driving on U.S. 183 or Mopac in North Austin lately, you know the routine: serious stop-and-go traffic and frustrating lane closures.

KVUE's Hannah Rucker spoke with the engineers behind the 183 North Mobility Project -which will create direct connectors between U.S. 183 and Mopac- and learned why the contractor might soon be paying the price for falling behind schedule.

For the last four years, Central Texas drivers have been met with a constant sight on 183 and Mopac: construction, and lots of it. But crews are nearing the completion of the 183 North Mobility Project.

According to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA), the end date has been consistent.
