The No. 1-seeded Northern Arizona women's volleyball team battled through a long, momentum-shifting match Monday evening in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament, but eighth-seeded Idaho State controlled the decisive points in the fifth set to hand the Lumberjacks a 3-2 loss inside Bank of Colorado Arena.
The opening set saw NAU generate offense early, with kills from Kylie Moran, Avery Gottschalk, Sophia Wadsworth and Hanah Stoddard helping the Lumberjacks build a 15-10 lead. A pair of kills by Gigi Greenlee pushed the lead to 19-17, but Idaho responded with a late 8-1 run to close out the first set ahead, 25-20. Copy article link Sign up for our newsletters
