Gordon Murray’s latest hypercar is already setting records.
The sold for over $20 million this past weekend at RM Sotheby’s Las Vegas Grand Prix sale. Any eight-figure gavel price is stunning, but this particular one makes the speed machine the most expensive new car ever sold at auction.
The winner won’t get to take home a car for their money, though. Instead, what they’ve bought is the fifth and final S1 LM build slot, though their car will be the first to roll off the production line. That’s why the final gavel price—of $20.63 million—is considered a record. Earlier this year, the one-off , but it had already been built at the time of sale.
