Powell’s Books has named a new CEO.

David Maquera has taken over the position from Patrick Bassett, Myka Duba, a union representative with ILWU Local 5, which represents Powell’s, confirmed Tuesday.

The Portland Business Journal first reported the news Monday afternoon but said Powell’s declined to provide additional details about Maquera. The book seller did not respond to a request for comment by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
