A turtle at a Chicago aquarium is getting a Thanksgiving treat.

A giant river turtle -- named Yam -- got a sweet potato pie at the Shedd Aquarium.

Mashed sweet potatoes were topped with yellow peppers, apples and other things and put inside a tortoise-pellet crust.

Officials there say their giant river turtles eat pies like this year-round. They say the pies provide something new for the turtles to investigate and they also help the caretakers keep track of their nutritional intake.
