A delivery truck pumped over 350 gallons of oil into the basement of a home on Linwood Street in Medford, instead of Malden, on Monday.
The 385 gallons of oil were supposed to be delivered to 48 Linwood St. in Malden, according to CBS .
Some of the six residents were home at the time of the oil delivery, but did not notice what was happening until they smelled the oil fumes, one of the residents told CBS.
The residents of the home have been displaced indefinitely, according to a statement from Medford City Hall.
No injuries were reported and no other homes were impacted, the city says.
The Medford Fire Department and a hazmat team arrived on the scene on Monday to assist with the initial cleanup, the city says, noting however that “the cleanup will be extensive.”
