IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use these mugshots because of the nature of the alleged crimes.
Two former Troutman Elementary School employees face multiple charges of assaulting students with disabilities after an investigation uncovered more than a dozen incidents, according to a release from the Troutman Police Department shared on Nov. 25, 2025.
Kassidy Ross, 23, of Statesville, was initially arrested Oct. 10 following a report to the school's resource officer on Oct. 2 about a possible assault involving a teacher assigned to exceptional students. Ross was charged with assault on an individual with disabilities and received a $5,000 secured bond.
The police department's Criminal Investigation Unit was later contacted by Iredell-Statesville Schools with concerns
