TROUP COUNTY, Ga. (WTVM) - One person is dead following a crash in Troup County.
According to Stewart Smith with the Troup County’s Sheriff’s Office, on November 24, the driver was clocked at a high speed by a deputy with the sheriff’s office.
Before the deputy could attempt a traffic stop, the driver crashed.
The crash happened near the 185 northbound and I-85 southbound interchange.
Troup County Coroner Erin Hackley has identified the driver as 42-year-old Desmond Parker.
Parker was pronounced dead at West Georgia Medical Center around 10 a.m.
