With Black Friday just days away, Sheriff Austin Garrett is reminding shoppers to stay alert and make safety a priority, whether they’re on the road, in the parking lot, or inside busy stores.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office urges drivers to expect heavy traffic around major shopping areas, obey signals, watch for pedestrians, and never drive impaired.
Shoppers are encouraged to lock their vehicles, keep valuables out of sight, and remain aware in crowded parking lots. Officials also recommend shopping with a friend if out late, holding children’s hands, and having keys ready before reaching your car.
Inside stores, or online, the Sheriff’s Office advises using trusted websites, avoiding large purses, watching for scams, tracking receipts, and securing wallets and cards after each
