"I call them guests ... I don't look at them as homeless," says Kendal Adams, Food Service Manager at the Chatt Foundation.
The Chatt Foundation is cooking up meals to feed 500 people this year. Their hope is that every attendee leaves with a full belly and a thankful heart.
Holden Young, Senior Director of Operations at the Chatt Foundation, says, "This week is super busy." He adds that devoted volunteers help cook and prepare the spaces for guests. "They help us get everything together for the table service that we do."
The Chatt Foundation has prepared 28 turkeys, 15 hams, trays of cooked vegetables, various kinds of casseroles, and plenty of pies. On Thanksgiving Day, hours will be extended from 11 am to 4 pm with extra seating space.
