NEW YORK (WBTV) - A school band from South Carolina will march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City this year.

The Catawba Ridge High School marching band made the 600-plus mile journey to the Big Apple this week, and has been sharing videos of the experience on the band’s .

The award-winning band from Fort Mill made it to New York on Nov. 23, and posted a rehearsal clip that night -- with the iconic Macy’s building in the background.

Catawba Ridge is just one of 11 marching bands in this year’s parade. Of those 11, only three are high school bands. The other two are from California and Texas.
