COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Supreme Court has confirmed when it will hear arguments in Alex Murdaugh’s bid for a new trial.
The state’s highest court has set a Feb. 11, 2026, date regarding Murdaugh’s appeal, according to its online roster of cases.

Murdaugh was found guilty in 2023 of killing his wife, Maggie and son, Paul, after a four-week trial in Colleton County. He was sentenced to life in prison.
In the years since, Alex has filed appeals for a retrial. Most notably, he was denied a new trial after a January 2024 hearing in Richland County. That denial led to his appeal to the state Supreme Court.
