PORTLAND, Ore. — The annual tree lighting ceremony at Pioneer Courthouse Square will be held on Friday, Nov. 28, the day after Thanksgiving.
The festive community event has brought large crowds to Portland's "living room" each holiday season for more than four decades.
Can't watch it in person? Don't worry! The tree lighting ceremony will be streamed live on KGW+ , available for free on Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV. The livestream will also be available on KGW.com , the KGW News app , and on the KGW YouTube channel . KGW anchor Christine Pitawanich will emcee the event, which is expected to start at 5:30 p.m.
The evening will culminate in Santa Claus flipping the switch on nearly 10,000 colorful lights on the 75-foot Douglas Fir, illuminating the heart of the Rose City throughout
