Pet dogs and cats around Reno and Sparks will benefit from some good karma, and a few children learned about helping animals on Saturday.
The Rotary Club of Sparks, with the help of three children, filled bags with the pet food, labeled the bags and helped deliver and fill 11 Pet Karma boxes around the area.
Addison Chavis, 7, of Sparks, got started on her volunteer efforts last summer when she made and sold lemonade in Spanish Springs and donated the proceeds to the Nevada Humane Society, more than $2,500.
She also helped the club fill bags with pet food on Saturday.
The other children, who asked to not be named, also donated hundreds of dollars to the Nevada Humane Society
