(WFSB) - Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont holds a commanding early lead for the 2026 Democratic gubernatorial nomination, with 55% of likely Democratic primary voters supporting his re-election bid, according to a new University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll.
State Representative Josh Elliott trails significantly with just 7% support, while 37% of likely Democratic primary voters remain undecided.
Elliott remains largely unknown, with 79% of likely Democratic primary voters saying they don’t know enough about him to form an opinion. Lamont enjoys 69% favorability among Democratic primary voters.
Connecticut residents identified cost of living as the state’s biggest problem at 22%, followed by taxes at 18% and housing at 15%.
