A 73-year-old New Jersey man drowned while swimming in Florida on Saturday, Nov. 22, according to reports.
Nikolay Yurchenko was swimming in the ocean off Palm Beach when he was pulled from the water at 12:26 p.m. behind a condominium in Riviera Beach, Rivieria Beach police told WPTV.
Yurchenko was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, WPTV reported.
Yurchenko and his 18-year-old granddaughter had arrived in Florida on Thursday to spend the Thanksgiving holiday together, WPTV said. She last saw him earlier that morning as he left to go for a swim, according to WPTV.
No foul play is suspected in Yurchenko's death, WPTV reported.
