Northern Nevada and the Tahoe basin are heading into a calm and mild Thanksgiving, with chilly mornings, hazy valleys and comfortable afternoons expected through the holiday.

A ridge of high pressure will keep the region dry with light winds and periods of high clouds. Morning inversions could lead to hazy skies and reduced air quality in lower valleys, especially around Reno-Sparks.

Thanksgiving Day is shaping up to be the warmest of the week. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 50s to mid-60s from Reno to Carson Valley, with overnight lows dropping into the 20s and 30s — and even the teens in the colder Sierra valleys.
