Justin Voss, the Reno doctor accused of felony battery in the assault of an 88-year-old man, also appeared via Zoom in Reno Justice Court on Tuesday.
The status hearing comes more than two months after Voss was arrested on suspicion of felony battery and robbery of the man, who has cancer and appeared bloody and bruised after the incident, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 17.
Defense attorney Joshua Tomsheck asked for additional time to review evidence after being recently appointed counsel for Voss. Tomsheck, who also appeared in court via Zoom, said he and Voss will appear in person in December.
Voss has not entered a plea.
Voss, 44, has been on residential confinement, without bail, since being arrested on Sept. 10.
