ALLEN PARK -- Kerby Joseph is set to miss his sixth straight game for the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.
The All-Pro safety still has not returned to practice. Joseph missed the game before the bye week, with the Lions hoping the extra time would help it heal.
But that still hasn’t happened, with the team now emphasizing the positives of the long-term approach. Joseph is one of the NFL’s top ball-hawking defensive backs. He led the league with nine interceptions last year, and has three in six games this season.
Joseph has dealt with knee injuries dating back to training camp. He played through the pain for the first six games while missing practices to get right. That’s what the Lions are hoping to avoid again.
