Harrisburg police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon homicide in the city’s Allison Hill neighborhood.

Officers were dispatched just after noon to the 300 block of South 17th Street after receiving reports of an assault.

Police found one person dead inside a house and are investigating the death as a homicide, according to Harrisburg police Lt. Kyle Gautsch.

Gautsch said police believe all of the people involved in the homicide have been identified. No suspects or charges have been announced as of this publication.

South 17th Street remains shut down near Vernon Street as police investigate.

Police have not released any other details on the homicide as of Tuesday afternoon.

The homicide is the 11th reported in Harrisburg so far in 2025, compared to 20 at the same time last year.
