Senior U.S. District Judge Michael W. Mosman on Tuesday extended the appointment of Scott E. Bradford as Oregon’s U.S. attorney until the Senate fills the vacancy.
Bradford was initially sworn in July 28 after Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed him to serve as interim U.S. attorney.
Under federal law , the attorney general’s appointment would expire after 120 days unless the president nominates him for the job.
President Donald Trump hasn’t done that yet, according to the list of nominations before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The post is likely not among his top priorities, legal observers said. The White House press office referred questions to the U.S. Department of Justice.
