A warrant was briefly issued for the arrest of a Republican congressional candidate in Palm Beach County.

Deborah Alaimy , one of the GOP candidates challenging U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel , was cited by Palm Beach police on Oct. 31, Halloween, for driving on a suspended driver’s license. The ticket required a court appearance for the Jupiter Republican, but she did not appear on Nov. 12 as required. A judge then issued a bench warrant for her arrest and set her bond at $2,000.

Adaimy was sent a court letter notifying her of the warrant two days later. Alaimy’s attorney, Michael Somera , spoke with the State Attorney’s Office and motioned on Nov. 14 to recall the warrant as Alaimy waived a right to a speedy trial.
