A Chinese restaurant that has served patrons for more than 13 years is closed.

Hunan Garden, at 1851 Montgomery Highway in Hoover, shut its doors earlier this year.

The restaurant phone number has been disconnected, and Google lists it as permanently closed.

Hunan Garden offered a menu of Chinese fare in varieties of seafood, pork, chicken and beef, with soup and appetizers.

On social media, the news was received with sorrow.

Redditor Pshad4bama wrote, “I feel like we need a moment of silence. Man. Human Garden was THE spot back in the day. I still miss their Mongolian beef and hot and sour soup.”

UABTodd contributed, “Hunan closed for good???? I know they’ve been to go only since Covid, but I didn’t know they closed. That sucks, they had the best hot and sour soup I’ve ever had!”
