A Birmingham man on probation after pleading guilty last year to attempted murder and robbery convictions is now charged in the June shooting death of a Fairfield teen.
Stephan Trainer, 24, is charged with capital murder in the slaying 18-year-old Marion Cedric Poole.
Police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded Monday, June 16, to the alley in 4000 block of Avenue H, which is off busy Avenue I, and found Poole unresponsive in an alley.
He was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:05 p.m.
Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said a community member heard gunfire, saw the victim unresponsive in the roadway and called 911.
Witnesses provided police with a description of a possible shooter who was spotted running from the alley.
