Critical information messages sent through text, email, voice
A new free emergency notification system that is sent through text, email or voice call is now available in Surprise.
The city last week launched Alert Surprise, a system powered by Smart911, which is a service that allows users to create a private and secure online profile with important information that is automatically displayed to emergency responders when calling 911.
The Alert Surprise system allows for one-way direct communication from the city to subscribers in potentially life-threatening situations.
Subscribers can choose to add address information to receive targeted emergency alerts based on locations they choose, such as home, work or school.
To register, follow the instructions at surpriseaz.gov/AlertSurprise,
